Recruiting for Cancer Research and Treatment

April 28th, 2015

In what has become a tradition, BestExec joined forces with JCSI, its parent company, to do phone outreach and recruit area businesses for the UMass Medicine Cancer Walk/5K Run. The walk/run will be held on Sunday, Sept. 27, at the UMass Medical School Campus in Worcester, and funds raised will support cancer research, clinical trials, and patient care.

“Last year, BestExec and JCSI were able to secure more than 80 corporate connections for us,” explains Nicole Anterni, who is responsible for corporate outreach for the UMass Medicine Cancer Walk/5K Run. “They have been a tremendous resource—raising more than $8k through their outreach and corporate involvement!”

Employees and managers donate their lunch time to contact local businesses about the event, which offers 3.5 or one-mile route options. As in previous years, there also will be a JCSI/BestExec team participating in the event. See here for more information about the walk.

This September will mark the 17th year UMass Medical School has organized the walk, raising more than $8 million for cancer research over the years. In 2014, more than 12,500 people and 300 corporate and community teams participated, raising $425,000 to support innovative research and clinical trials programs at the Cancer Center for Excellence.
